Photo Morphing Software Free After Rebate

Part of the fun of digital photos is being able to manipulate them like we never could with film photos. A lot of photo software is available to do cropping, red-eye correction and other utilities, but if you want to have some more fun and explore your creativity, you can try photo-morphing software. The best part is, it won't cost you anything to give it a try.

Buy.com is offering Allume Morpheus Photo Morpher at $28.00 with two rebates totalling $28.00. And it comes with free shipping. So other than the cost of the two stamps to send in the rebate paperwork, the software is yours free. Which is always a good price.

One of the rebates requires the original UPC and the other asks for an original or copy, so make sure to send the original for the one that requires it. One of the rebates is for purchases until November 4th so that's the deadline to get the entire $28 back.

Here's the link.

Take a look at the software and see if it tickles your fancy to turn your photos into all kinds of different ways to smile.

Kingston 4GB High Capacity SD Card $14.95 w/Rebate

The more memory the better.

If you have a digital camera that can take high capacity SDHC cards (some older devices can't run these types of cards), this might be up your alley. Carrying this one card could let you take so many photos, you wouldn't need to carry another on any vacation.

Adorama is offering a Kingston 4GB high capacity card for $29.95, along with a $15 mail-in rebate that brings the final cost down to $14.95.

The rebate is valid till October 31st, so hurry! There is a limit of two rebates per person/address. Please note that Kingston rebates get a little complicated if you want to submit two. You actually have to fill out two forms, but then mail them together in the same envelope. They don't accept P.O. Boxes and it has to be sent within 14 days of purchase. But I have mailed in Kingston rebates in the past and they do work if you follow the directions.

Here's the link.

If you're looking to add memory for your digital device, this is a way to do it at a nice price.

Free $20 Gift Card at Dale and Thomas Popcorn

Dale and Thomas Popcorn is offering a free $20 gift certificate to use on-line to order their gourmet popcorn products. You just submit your e-mail address and they e-mail you a certificate that's good till the end of 2008.

Some high-end popcorn might make a nice gift idea to send someone as a holiday treat. Oprah's O Magazine recommended them as one of her favorite things.

Here's the link.

The site also has an offer for 2 free bags of popcorn if you pay the shipping. Here's that link.

Take a look and see if you can snack on these savings.

Self-setting Clock Radio that Projects the Time $12.49 with Promo Code and Rebate

Linens 'n' Things is offering the Emerson SmartSet Time Projecting Alarm Clock Radio with deals that bring the final net price down to $12.49, less than half the regular price of $29.99.

This radio features a self-setting clock so the time stays correct and readjusts after any blackouts or power interruptions. Also, you can tap a button and the unit projects the time on a wall or ceiling -- easier than getting up to take a look at the time in the middle of the night. The radio is AM/FM with a rotary dial for tuning.

The price is $29.99 but if you use promo code FFOCT07 you get 25% off, bringing the checkout total to $22.49. Then there's a $10 rebate valid till October 31st, making the final price $12.49. You also can choose in-store pick-up to save delivery charges if there's a Linens 'n' Things nearby.

Here's the link.

A nicely featured clock radio for a good price makes this a timely deal!

Hot Offer! Restaurant.com Certificates 70% Off

Our friends at restaurant.com have unleashed yet another promotional code, at the eye-popping level of 70% off! The promo code to enter at checkout is TREATS. So a certificate for $25 of dining credit at one of their long list of restaurants drops from $10 to just $3.

I've mentioned restaurant.com several times in the blog, but for those of you who haven't yet checked it out, there are many participating restaurants which you can search by city or zip code, and you can choose how wide a radius to search. The terms for each restaurant are clearly stated, whether a minimum check amount, minimum number of diners, inclusion of alcohol in meeting the base price, etc. But for the most part, the conditions are fairly straightforward to meet.

The certificates are delivered by e-mail and are good for a year - if you have a favorite restaurant you can buy several certificates but you can use only one a month per restaurant.

When the bill comes, you present the certificate with the rest of your payment - and voilà! You've just had a wonderful meal and saved a pretty penny in the process.

Visit restaurant.com and see what's available in your area - you might be pleasantly surprised. And don't forget to add TREATS at checkout for the extra 70% savings. I'm not sure how long it lasts, but I'd guess from the word that it's till Halloween.

NFL Caps On Sale - Gifts for the Football Fans in Your Life?

If you know any fiootball fans, you know they can never have enough team gear. Right now, amazon.com and Foot Locker are having a sale of assorted knit caps and baseball-style caps for various NFL teams. The brand is No Huddle, and the caps that retail for $21.99 are reduced to just $5.99.

On top of that, Foot Locker has a limited time promotion where they are shipping any order for free - you really can't beat that, can you?

Not every team is available, so you may want to check out which teams still have the sale caps available.

Here's the link.

With plenty of NFL season left and colder weather coming, these knit caps might just do the trick!

Golfers... Free Alignment Aid and Initials with Order of 3 Dozen

For my golfing buddies... golfballs.com is offering free IDalign with a purchase of 3 dozen golf balls. That's a mark they imprint on the balls which helps you align the ball on your swing and your putts. And they add your initials onto the ball, so you know it's yours.

(It's normally about $5 a dozen to have this done, so it's a nice little bonus)

If you're a golfer who'd like an edge to help improve accuracy (or know a golfer and looking for a unique gift idea), maybe this combination is what you're looking for.

Enter promo code LINEITUP at checkout to get the offer. It's valid through October 28th so hurry.

Now if you want to maximize your savings, go to ebates first (if you're not yet registered you get a $10 bonus for registering), and then click THEIR link to golfballs.com -- and you get 6% cash back on your order deposited into your ebates account! There's an image window at golfballs.com that shows products including the IDalign balls.

Free alignment with personalization and extra savings on top of that -- now you can really "address the ball!"

Vegas Hotel $28/Night! Palace Station Hotel & Casino

The rates are good for a short window only, which is Sunday through Tuesday nights from December 9th through 18th. The special price must be booked by October 30th.

A bonus Laughlin tour with a buffet ($10 value) is added at no extra cost! Plus, I think there are Riviera 2 for 1 show coupons if I read the order form correctly.

A promo code TOPPICKS is needed to book the special.

Here's the link.

Hey, with all the money you save on a hotel, you can splurge on the rest of your Vegas getaway and have more money to play with at the tables!

Gillette Good News! Pivot Plus - 36 Razors Under $11

Razors... a fact of everyday life. After a while the blades wear down and you need another. Here's a chance to stock up on a disposable razor that people seem to like.

Its the Gillette Good News! Pivot Plus with Lubrastrip disposable razor. They come in packs of 12 and amazon.com has three packs (36 razors total) for $10.04 (less than half the original price of $22.00).

Razors don't grow stale or go back in your medicine cabinet, so why not stock up at a good price on something you'll need eventually anyway?

I've used Amazon for purchases of commodities when they have special offers, and if items keep, why not stock up for a long supply? I once got 75 bars of my favorite brand of soap for a total of $25 shipped (or 33 cents a bar) when supermarket prices were $1.49 for a three-pack when they were on sale (50 cents a bar) or $2.49 when they weren't (83 cents). The hidden benefit is that whenever I open a new pack of soap (75 bars lasts quite a while), I get a quick remindr of the bargain and a bit of a smile inside.

Here's the link.

If you add it with other items that total over $25 (maybe including the Magic 8 Ball below) they ship free.

So shave some dollars off and save! (Sorry 'bout that one)

Find Out What the Magic 8 Ball Is Saying...

We've seen them around, and they're a hoot at parties. The Magic 8 Ball that you ask a question, shake, and then look for the wisdom of the universe.

I think the universe would consider it wise to save money on one!

Right now amazon.com is offering the Mattel Magic 8 Ball, regularly $5.99, for just $3.00. If you make it part of an order totalling $25, the shipping is free.

Here's the link.

Do you think it's a good idea to save money? The answer is yes.

What Good Is a Portable Computer without a Carrying Case?

Could you use a carrying case to help bring your laptop from point A to point B? MacMall has a black carrying case with a full rebate so your final cost is free except for shipping! And isn't that a nice little price?

The case is for laptops with screens up to 15.4 inches. It's got padding to protect your laptop, pockets for your other paraphernalia and papers, a shoulder strap and more.

The rebate is valid till the end of the year.

Here's the link.

So if you need a laptop case (or could use a spare), here's a nice little inexpensive way to meet that need.

Restaurant.com Certificates at 60% Off with Promo Code

Well, the latest Restaurant.com promo code is in. This time it's a 60% off value, making the $25 certificate just $4 instead of $10! Have you taken advantage yet? These certificates offer tremendous value, but also minimize the risk of trying a new restaurant.

With the holidays coming up they can make great stocking stuffer for your kids away at college so they can get a break from dorm food. If you have family members living somewhere far away, it's a way to give them something practical they could use (maybe give several certificates adding up to really big savings in the coming year).

There are lots of ways to spread the savings around. Check out Restaurant.com, and add the promo code SWEET at checkout to activate the 60% off your cart. The code is valid till October 22nd.

I don't want to be too repetitive on how these work, so if you're not familiar, click on restaurant.com in the index of keywords in the left column.

Spread the news around!

Travel to London in Style for a Song!

There's an airline called MaxJet which lets all its passengers travel in better style -- the entire airplane is business class! No separation of sections with bigger seats and better service from coach sections with cramped seats and minimal service. Everyone is treated like a star! They ad been offering the service based on one low price across the plane of $999 each way from NY to London (Stansted Airport). More than coach but way less than business class in the traditional setting.

I have a friend who liked them so much, that on business trips to Germany, rather than fly coach non-stop he would fly MaxJet to London and then take RyanAir bargain airline from London to Germany!

Now MaxJet is offering some prices that may tempt you to join them for a London trip in style. The fares are valid for travel from November 16th through February 28th. The fare from New York is cut to $499 (plus the unavoidable airport/security fees) for travel Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Other days of the week it's still cut to $599.

Maybe even more eye-popping are departures from Los Angeles orLas Vegas, any day of he week, for just $599! That means on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays it's just $100 more than from New York, but on the other days the price to London from LA or LV is identical to flying from NY!!! I'd be surprised if you can find a comparable deal to Europe that includes the transcontinental departure...

Here's the link.

So if London is calling and you'd like to make the journey more of a pleasure, maybe these fares will do the trick!

Ebates - A Little Extra Money Back

I wanted to write about a website called ebates, which I ran across some time ago. I didn't want to write until I saw that it works. Well, today I received my first rebate check from them, so I wanted to share the information.

Ebates.com is a shopping portal for a large number of on-line stores, including almost all the big names and many specialty stores. There are over 800 different stores. They have names like Macy's, Target, Circuit City, Staples and a ton more. Each of the on-line stores has some offer if you use ebates, usually a percentage back for your on-line purchase. For many stores it's 1-2% but there are some with percentages of 5% back or higher -- some even at 25%! Some examples of stores and the current rebate level: Macy's 4%, Bloomingdales 2%, Broderbund 7%, Circuit City 2%, Home Depot 3%.

To use the system you would sign up here (you get a $5 bonus just for your initial sign-up!). Then when you find an on-line store you want to shop you click on the store's website link. That opens a tracking ticket on ebates which follows the transaction. If you complete a purchase during that visit ebates gets notification within a few days from the seller and then ebates credits your account with that amount.

It's important to note that only purchases which are done via an ebates portal entry can get credited. That means if you go directly to Staples.com and buy something there, you don't get ebates credit even though Staples is an ebates vendor. Only if you went to ebates first and then clicked on Staples.

What you can do if you are shopping on-line and are finding something to buy, you can empty your shopping cart from that visit (if you put the item in your cart) and close that window. Then open a new window and go to ebates, click on the seller's store name to open a tracking ticket and complete your purchase.

The list of stores is really very widespread -- sometimes I've missed out on ebates because I didn't check to see if a seller was on the list, like cheaptickets.com, which offers a $3 credit for a hotel, airfare or package transaction. So I'm going to try and double-check ebates before any on-line transaction.

To make it even more palatable, they offer a $5 credit for signing up (they won't send you the $5 till you add some purchases). So if you do shopping on-line, here's a way to get some of your hard-earned cash back in your pocket! Sign up now!

I Have No Idea If This Is a "Deal," But Here's a Hillary Nutcracker

Every once in a while, the search for good deals brings an item that makes you smile (remember the toilet-paper-holder-Ipod-dock?).

Overstock.com has an item that might bring that kind of smile to your face: a Hillary Clinton Nutcracker! Judging from the photos and comments it looks to be a well-made novelty item. Their price is $29.99, which they indicate is half-off.

The funny thing is, it's the kind of item that could be a gift for someone who likes Hillary, as well as for someone who's opposed to her!

Anyway, here's the link.

Even if you wouldn't buy one, maybe you want to just take a look and crack a smile.

Buy Golf Glove on Clearance for $5.95, Get Sunglasses Free with Promo Code

This is for my friends who hit the links...

Golfballs.com has a clearance price of $5.95 for a white Etonic Feel Glove, which currently is available for the right hand in small, large or extra-large. Here's the link to the gloves.

When you go to checkout, if you click on the button for 'I have a promotional code,' it opens a text box where you can type in this promo code PGADSC. That adds a pair of PGA Tour D-Force Spring Coil Sunglasses (selling at $39.95) to your order for free! Yes, free! Here's the info on the sunglasses.

That's a nice little incentive. This deal looks like a nice birdie, if you ask me.

A Handy Little Item: Wind-up Flashlight - Promo Code

We all know we're supposed to keep flashlights around "just in case" and they should all have fresh batteries etc. Unfortunately many of us (and I include me in the us) don't always pay attention to those details and if we have flashlights they may not always work in an emergency.

Until recently I had never seen a wind-up flashlight. During a recent play which I was directing, one of my actors brought one to the theatre. It's a neat little device, small enough to fit into a pocket. It has a small handle you can extend from the body and wind up, which charges the flashlight. I expected it to be just a minimal light but it was surprisingly strong.

Why am I writing about this? Well, there's a deal right now and I thought it might be of interest. Handhelditems.com is offering this for $8.99 (list price $19.99). If you add a promo code "windup" at checkout they drop another $3 to make the final price $5.99. The code expires December 30th.

If you add in the fact that you won't need to buy batteries to keep these ready for an emergency, that's another savings down the line. They'd be useful for outdoors activities as well, not just in a drawer waiting for emergencies, power outages etc.

Here's the link.

They also have a more elaborate model wind-up that looks more like a flashlight, which also contains an FM radio and also can charge certain model cellphones. It's available for $14.99 (list $29.99) but the promo code doesn't apply to this model. Here's that link.

If you want to get one of each, they have a combo offer for $17.98 for one of each. Here's the combo link.

The promo code is per order, so if you buy multiple lights on one order, you only get $3.00 off the entire order -- I don't know if you can use the promo code for multiple orders and order several of the small flashlights separately. But take a look at these items and consider stocking up to stay a bit more prepared.

Men's Silk Sportcoat $15.00 + Free Shipping

Update October 5th -- whatever sizes and patterns they have in stock have been reduced to just $15.00!

Blair.com is offering a clearance sale on men's silk sportcoats, regularly $99.99, currently at $22.49. They offer them in houndstooth or herringbone patterns. Each style/color has varying availability for sizes, so you should check the chart to see what's available in your size.

If you enter the code Z0S at checkout, shipping is free for orders over $20 (that's a zero in the middle, not the letter O). Tough to beat that!

One additional note: with their declining clearance system, Friday at 12:00 am they will cut the price again to $15.00. But the size availability will probably be much less so you can debate whether to buy them at this price or wait till then and take the risk.

Here's the link.

So if you want to add a little dash of flair to your wardrobe, this could be a nice little addition for just a little bit of an investment.

Samsung 42" Plasma TV $995 + Free Shipping

Frys.com is offering a deal on the Samsung HPT4254 42" plasma TV for $995 and it will be shipped free (original retail is $1,499). I haven't posted too many deals on TVs because there are so many brands and so many variables, but this TV has gotten very good customer reviews at cnet.com, and Fry's price is a couple of hundred less than available anywhere else.

Here's a link to the cnet review.

One think I note is that this is a 720p resolution, and higher-end plasma TVs have 1080p resolutions, but of course you pay for that. But for this level of TV, the users seem to rate it well, and its specs compare favorably to other TVs at the 720p level. If you're not looking to spend an arm and a leg and want a TV, this may be worth researching. And I sincerely suggest doing your research on purchases like these.

Here's the link to Fry's.

So if you're in the market for a TV and would like a plasma of good size without taking too big a chunk from your wallet, this may be worth checking out.

Limited Time: Dozen Pink Roses $9.99 + Delivery order now for delivery anytime now till Feb. 1st

FTD.com has a limited-time offer on pink roses -- they don't say what the limited period is, but you can order now and schedule delivery anytime until February 1st, including holiday periods.

They've cut the price to $9.99 a dozen (usually $19.99) and shipping is in the range of about $10 to $15 depending on the delivery location (for delivery Monday-Friday). That makes it a nice deal for flowers you want to send someone who doesn't live nearby.

Here's the link.

As mentioned, it's unclear how long this offer will be available, but since you can arrange delivery any time in the future it might be worth taking advantage now. You can sweeten someone's day in a very nice way!

Sweet Deal on Lavazza Coffee Beans

Update November 19th... I checked on Amazon and the deal is a bit different, and still a good buy -- when I posted it, you could get three 2.2 lb bags for $32.50. Now the offer would get you two 2.2 lb bags (over four ponds of great coffee beans) for $27.46 delivered (using the code ESPRESS9 on 2 bags). That's not too shabby when the regular price for ONE bag is $34.99. This promo code is good through the end of the year (a Christmas present for a coffee lover?)

Here's a great little deal on Amazon.com for some very delicious coffee beans. I had bought a couple of bags of these beans back in January when they were having another special promotional offer and I think they make excellent coffee. So I just placed another order to stock up. And I used my Coinstar gift certificate I just redeemed this morning. So I got $100 worth of coffee (at regular price) for about $30 of change sitting in a jar!

The coffee is Lavazza Cream e Aroma . Lavazza is one of the premier names for coffee in Italy (it's the brand my mother-in-law uses when we come there to visit). These are in bean form, so you need a grinder to use them in your coffeemaker. I prefer these to any other coffee brand I have tried, but that's a matter of personal taste...

They come in 2.2 lb. bags, and the regular retail price is $34.99, but Amazon has them at half-price, $17.50. If you buy more than $49 worth (or three bags) and use the promotion code LAVAZZA8 at checkout, they take $20 off the order, bringing the price of three bags down to $32.50! The code is good till October 31st or while supplies last. And it's shipped to your door for free as well. Very nice all the way around.

For a really nice Italian coffee, that's a nice price. Here's the link: Lavazza Crema e Aroma.

I hope you find this deal as delicious as I did.
