Those of you who know me know that one of my endeavors is in theatre... in fact right now I am directing and acting in a production that's been both intense and gratifying. So seeing a chance to combine this with another endeavor of mine -- saving money -- is great!
There is a program in October where non-profit theatres around the country offer free tickets for a night of theatre. It's a great chance to try some new shows or theatres you haven't visited. I think theatre is a great way to see a story told, very different from TV or a movie where everything is canned for you. In theatre you get to see it happen in real time, and the actors bring the characters to life right in front of you.
There are theatres in some major cities as well as some programs with smaller theatres across various states. Most of the shows are October 18th, but some are a few days earlier or later. Reservations can be made at the start of October on-line.

Try it, you might just like it!
