Hotel Rooms for Free in Thanks for Volunteer Service; Also “Half Price for Heroes”" for US Military Personnel and First Responders

Here's an unusual offer that lets you save some money in exchange for volunteer work at registered 501(c)3 non-profit organizations. I know many of my readers do volunteer work so this may be one to check out if you have travel plans.

Some fifty hotels across the country are giving away a free night now through December 20th to guests who can prove that they completed at least eight hours of community service. The program is called "Give a Day, Get a Night."

To qualify, a letter on the nonprofit organization's letterhead must be provided as proof that you've completed the volunteer work at a 501(c)3 organization such as Meals on Wheels or Habitat for Humanity.

The hotels, all managed by Sage Hospitality, include such great names as The Nines in Portland, Oregon, or The Blackstone in Chicago.

The room must be reserved at least 48 hours before arrival. Guests must pay taxes for the room. Blackout dates apply and there are a limited number of rooms available at each hotel. The offer runs to Dec. 20th.

The number of rooms under this program is limited, but there's a second program that just offers a half-price discount to Military and First Responders. It's called "Half Price for Heroes."

Active and retired members of the US military and first responders qualify for 50% off of their nightly room rate at Sage hotels across the country. The offer applies to active and retired members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and US Coast Guard, activated members of the National Guard and Reservists, divisions within the Department of Defense (FBI, CIA, Secret Service and NASA) as well as those in first responders jobs – firefighters, police and paramedics.

To book, contact any of the fifty Sage hotels ask for the "Half Price for Heroes" rate. Or book on-line at the individual hotel using the booking code “LPR” where the form asks for a promotional/ group code.
