I just posted a deal for MacBooks for college students but I know there are a bunch of students who will be using Microsoft-based notebooks at college too. And there's a nice deal for them that's still active.
If you're enrolled at college and have a .edu address, you can get the Ultimate version of Office 2007 for just 59.95, a savings of over 90% from the retail price of $679. That's the Ultimate version, not the one you see at stores called Home and Student which just includes Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Ultimate has all those elements of Office included , plus Publisher, Access, Accounting Express, Groove, InfoPath, and OneNote -- the really complete all-purpose pack.
Microsoft is alsog offering college students Vista Ultimate with SP1 for just $64.95 -- this version of Vista usually goes for $219.95 so you're saving $155.00. And at no extra cost to you, Microsoft will contribute $10 to the Global Fund to help fight AIDS in Africa for each purchase. It's a nice deal, but with Microsoft on the verge of issuing Windows 7 operating system, I would only do this if you really need the upgrade now.
Hey, college costs are high enough -- why not take advantage of one of the ways being a student helps you save money? To check it out, click the link below.
