I'm not sure how/why they do this, but there's a site called Hippopost which offers to let you print postcards for free, and they will also mail them out for you. You can choose a few photo designs off their website (some travel images, leisure items and pets) or upload your own pictures. Then you write what you want on the card and tell them where to send them.
