If you're going to travel all the way to Australia, wouldn't you want the adventure to include seeing The Great Barrier Reef? Right now, Qantas is offering a special deal that lets you fly to Cairns (the gateway to the Tropical North), but also includes a bonus flight to another destination in Australia or new Zealand.
For a limited time, they're offering the opportunity to see more of Australia or New Zealand when you visit the Tropical North. They include a bonus flight at no additional cost -- add Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Auckland to your Cairns itinerary.
The fares are already quite nice for a trip to Australia, but adding on the bonus destination makes it even more enticing. From San Francisco or Los Angeles, the fare is $449 each way. From JFK airport in New York, it's $549. So you could get $898 roundtrip from the west coast or $1098 from the east. Their site also has prices from other U.S. cities if you need to fly to one of those departure points.
These prices don't include security and airport fees and taxes. These fares are valid for travel between May 1st and September 21st. Tickets must be purchased by February 27th.
Cairns is the perfect base for venturing out to the World-Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef and Wet Tropics Rainforest. For adventure-, nature- and eco-enthusiasts, there's a lot to explore in the Tropical North, and this may be a chance to make your adventure come true. Plus you get to do some more exploration of another great destination down under at the same low airfare. To read more about this deal and search for tickets, click this link.
