A Handy Little Item: Wind-up Flashlight - Promo Code

We all know we're supposed to keep flashlights around "just in case" and they should all have fresh batteries etc. Unfortunately many of us (and I include me in the us) don't always pay attention to those details and if we have flashlights they may not always work in an emergency.

Until recently I had never seen a wind-up flashlight. During a recent play which I was directing, one of my actors brought one to the theatre. It's a neat little device, small enough to fit into a pocket. It has a small handle you can extend from the body and wind up, which charges the flashlight. I expected it to be just a minimal light but it was surprisingly strong.

Why am I writing about this? Well, there's a deal right now and I thought it might be of interest. Handhelditems.com is offering this for $8.99 (list price $19.99). If you add a promo code "windup" at checkout they drop another $3 to make the final price $5.99. The code expires December 30th.

If you add in the fact that you won't need to buy batteries to keep these ready for an emergency, that's another savings down the line. They'd be useful for outdoors activities as well, not just in a drawer waiting for emergencies, power outages etc.

Here's the link.

They also have a more elaborate model wind-up that looks more like a flashlight, which also contains an FM radio and also can charge certain model cellphones. It's available for $14.99 (list $29.99) but the promo code doesn't apply to this model. Here's that link.

If you want to get one of each, they have a combo offer for $17.98 for one of each. Here's the combo link.

The promo code is per order, so if you buy multiple lights on one order, you only get $3.00 off the entire order -- I don't know if you can use the promo code for multiple orders and order several of the small flashlights separately. But take a look at these items and consider stocking up to stay a bit more prepared.
