Zune is Microsoft's answer to the Ipod. Right now, Buy.com is taking pre-orders for a brown colored 30GB model that can hold 7,500 songs or 100 hours of video. The regular price is $199.99 but they are taking orders at $99.99 with free shipping.
The Zune's video screen will turn from portrait to landscape if you turn the device on its side. It also includes an FM tuner if you want to listen to some radio broadcasts.
Ipod got a head start and is still more popular, but if you haven't jumped into the Ipod world yet, maybe you should take a look at this Zune.
They indicate delivery will happen in 4 to 6 weeks so it should be in time for Christmas delivery, if that's why you want to get one.
