Canon iP4500 Printer with a Hannah Montana or High School Musical Digital Camera for $19.99 After Rebates (Or Another Kid's Camera for $14.99)

A lot of the free-printer rebates come when you buy a printer together with a PC, but if you just need a new printer and don't want to spend a ton, there's a nice rebate deal at Ritz Camera right now.

They have the Canon Pixma iP4500 on sale for $100, a printer that gets very high reviews. There's a $50 rebate on the printer valid for purchases until October 31st. In addition, they have a bonus $50 rebate program when you buy this printer with any digital camera. So after the combined rebates, the printer is free and you basically just have to pay the cost of the digital camera. Shipping is free too.

Now if you happen to be in the market for a good digital camera anyway, you might want to take advantage of this deal and get the printer too.

But if it's the printer in which you're interested, there's a low-cost option that lets you get an inexpensive little camera and get the printer rebate. If you search their website for digital cameras, you can find two inexpensive ones featuring Hannah Montana or High School Musical for $19.99 apiece. Or they also have some slightly less expensive low-price digital cameras such as the Girl Gear Heart-Shaped Digital Camera that also acts as a webcam and takes some video, priced at just $14.99.

Now, the resolution on pictures and videos from cameras like all of these are obviously not anywhere near that of a serious camera, but they could still make a nice little gift item for a very young child. And if not, you've still gotten a nice Canon Printer for a net of about $15-$20 even if you just throw the camera away.

I called the rebate center and the representative with whom I spoke confirmed that the offer is valid with the purchase of any digital camera.

The camera and printer must be bought at the same time on one receipt. There are two different rebate forms to complete and submit separately, so you want to note which UPC goes with which. The $50 combined camera-printer offer (offer 109486) gets the original white UPC from the outside of the printer box. The $50 printer rebate (offer 109485) uses the secondary red UPC that's found on the inside flap of the printer box. Each rebate form also asks for a copy of the receipt with the qualifying items circled. And you should note that no P.O. Box addresses are allowed on the rebate form. As with any rebates, do take the time to read the conditions so you know what's required. After all, a free-after-rebate offer is only good if you actually get the money back -- and that requires following all the directions fully.

One more little note about ordering: Ritz gives you an order confirmation and an e-mail after you place your order, and they ask that you call a toll-free number to reconfirm the order before they ship it. No problem, just something you might want to know.

By the way, I've used Canon printers and have been really pleased with the quality of the prints and the reliability. You should note that the more modern printers read chips in the ink cartridges to make sure you use Canon-brand ink, not some generics or refills.

To take a look at the printer (where they also have links to the rebate forms), here's a link to Ritz. Then you can search for your digital camera using my suggestions or just look at their whole selection by using their search box.
