The Chesapeake Bay Foundation is working to increase people's awareness of environmental issues in general and of the Bay in particular. As such, they're looking for people to take a pledge to help promote better practices. And to make those pledges a little more rewarding to make, they're offering a free water bottle or free gardening gloves.
They're encouraging better care of the air through more cycling and less driving. For gardeners, they're talking about better water conservation and soil/plant care. And for boaters they encourage litter-free and pollution-free boating.
You don't have to live near the Chesapeake Bay to make your pledge, and for people who take the cycling pledge they will send you a free "Cyclist for the Bay" water bottle. For anyone who takes the gardening pledge they will send you a free pair of gardening gloves.
The site doesn't seem to indicate that you can only make one of the pledges, so you could probably get both the water bottle and the gardening gloves if desired.
All the pledges also include getting more information about protecting the Bay and the environment as well as e-mails on important issues.
To check them out and make your pledge to get the free items, click this link and then click on the appropriate pledge.
