Gearing up for the 2008 baseball season? (Well, the Red Sox and A's have already played one regular-season game in Japan.)
If you like baseball cards (or know a youngster who does), the baseball card industry is celebrating National Baseball Card Day on March 29th.
Fans will be able to sign on at mlb.com/cards that day and receive a free pack of cards. Each pack will contain five base cards from Topps, five base cards from Upper Deck, one chase card from Topps, one chase card from Upper Deck, and one informational card.
Also that day, participating hobby stores will be giving away a pack of baseball cards just for the asking. Toys "R" Us has announced they'll give away packs that day.
Here's a link to the press release with details.
So if getting some free baseball cards might tickle your fancy and get you ready for the season, circle March 29th on your calendar.
