Summer Fares to Europe on Lufthansa -- Great Deals from Many Departure Cities Including West Coast

Lufthansa has introduced an airfare sale for flights to Europe this summer so you can start planning that dream vacation. Generally on most airlines, the lowest prices are for departures from New York or Boston, but this sale has a twist -- several European cities have lower fares if you're departing from places such as Charlotte, Houston and even Seattle.

Here are some prices for certain European destinations, compared to the New York departure prices (all fares shown are one-way):
- New York to Frankfurt: $314
- Charlotte to Frankfurt: $239
- New York to Budapest $306
- Houston to Budapest: $289
- New York to Rome: $374
- Seattle to Rome: $361
- New York to Milan: $364
- Dallas to Milan: $377

These are one-way flights so double them for roundtrip. They don't include amounts for airport and security fees/taxes.

These fares are valid for tickets purchased by May 15th. The lowest fares are for weekday travel; weekend surcharges apply. The outbound departure period is from May 27th through August 30th, with returning travel from June 3rd through September 29th. A Saturday night stay is required.

If you happen to live in or near some of these non-major departure airports (insofar as flights to Europe) such as Charlotte, Detroit, Houston, Dallas, San Francisco and others, these unique price points may make this a better deal than many typical European airfare sales.
