High-End Noise-Canceling Headshones 75% Off

A week ago, I wrote about my "faux-business-class" kit for more comfortable air travel. One of the essential items was noise-canceling headphones. They make an amazing difference in shutting out the noise of airplane engines and other sounds so you really can be more comfortable. If you haven't tried them, I think you would be pleasantly surprised.

I had gotten a pair of Logitech headphones, which were quite good, especially compared to the cheap no-name ones I had originally tried to see if there was any validity to noise-canceling claims.

Everyone acknowledges Bose as the head-of-the-class, but as I wrote, I didn't think you could justify spending $300 for a pair of these unless you're a real frequent flyer. The Logitech seemed like a nice middle-of-the-road compromise and were satisfactory but didn't blow me away.

In my deal-searching today, I ran across the Jabra C820S headphones -- based on the reviews, these seem much closer to the Bose in terms of the effectiveness of the noise reduction, and people seem to comment positively about the comfort. Some reviewers say they wore them on 13-hour flights without a problem. The Logitechs weren't UNcomfortable but after a while (about three hours) they did seem to create a bit of pressure.

But right now, buy.com has cut the price of the Jabra to just 1/4 of the regular price, so instead of $199.99 you pay $49.99. Update January 2nd: the price is now $53.99. That's just a bit more than the special deal that I found on the Logitech.

So if you have occasion to travel on planes every so often (or could use noise-canceling headphones in other places like a noisy office, construction site etc.), you may want to try and get these while they're on sale and in stock. Buy.com's listing says they're limited quantity and I already grabbed one myself so you may want to hurry!

To check on the details, read the specs and reviews and see if they're right for you, just click on the headphones!
