Spirit Airlines -- Fares from $8 Each Way for Fare Club Members; $17 for Non-Members - Chicago/Myrtle Beach; Boston/Atlantic City; Others Too

I've posted a few times in the past about Spirit Airlines' deals. They have airfare deals fairly often where they have selected routes on specific dates where the prices are slashed way, way down. It's how I was able to fly roundtrip from Atlantic City to Las Vegas for 2¢ one time.

They have a deal going on today for a variety of departure and destination cities with various dates slashed as low as $8 each way (if you're a member or join their $9 Fare Club) or $17 each way for non-club members. So if you can pair up the dates for departure and return, you could get a roundtrip for $16 or $34 respectively.

Examples of the airfares include:
Boston to Atlantic City $8 (club) or $17: May 2, 6, 11, 25, 26, 27
Atlantic City to Boston $8 (club) or $17: May 12, 13, 27, 29, 30, 31
Chicago to Myrtle Beach $8 (club) or $17: April 14, 16, 19, 26, 28, May 6
Myrtle Beach to Chicago $8 (club) or $17: April 8, 17, 21, 23, 30, May 7
Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles $44 (club) or $53: May 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7
Los Angeles to Fort Lauderdale $44 (club) or $53: May 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

They have a bunch lof other cities, including New York and Detroit, Las Vegas, Tampa, Orlando with a variety of offers. From Fort Lauderdale you can also fly to Central and South America for some super-low fares (some destinations include the $8 special.

Airport and security fees and taxes are additional. Spirit charges for bags you check and for refreshments on board, but then again, so do many non-bargain airlines these days.

Joining the club costs $39.95 annually and makes sense if you live in/near one of their major hubs and would fly them more than a couple of roundtrips a year. If you live near Fort Lauderdale (their main hub) it would seem to make sense since so many deals go through there.

But whether you join the club or not, these deals might provide a way to take a quick trip for fun or to visit a friend or family member without taking too big a chunk out of your wallet.
