Free Ticket to a Pittsburgh Pirates Home Game

A few baseball teams have had deals involving free tickets -- check my earlier posts for info about tickets for the Braves, Orioles or Rangers -- and now the Pittsburgh Pirates have gotten on board. They are offering a free infield grandstand ticket to anyone who signs up on their website and provides their birthday information.

But the neat thing is that the game you select doesn't have anything to do with your birthday. You can pick a game if your birthday has passed, if your birthday falls outside the season, or if you just want to pick a specific game/opponent. There are just four games excluded, and the game must occur at least four days after registration.

The tickets have a value of $16.00 so this is a nice freebie.

Parents can even sign up their children to be recipients. The site also offers an opportunity to buy additional tickets at $10.00 (saving $6.00 off regular prices). But if you want to go together with someone else or a small group, since there's a limit of one free ticket per person, there's also nothing to stop a couple of people from registering for the same date/game.

The deadline for registering is September 25th.

To read all the details and register for your free game ticket, click this link.

Save on Golfing -- Tee Times at Up to 60% Off with 15% Promo Code

If you love golf, this must be one of your favorite times of the year. The weather's nice but not too hot to get out there for 18 holes. If you are looking for ways to save a bit on fees and tee times, there's a site called TeeTimeWatch that you may want to check out.

They offer golf certificates at a wide variety of courses around the country, which entitle you to a round of golf, a cart and a one-year subscription to Golf magazine (that seems to be included with most, if not all, certificates). The savings off the regular prices for a round vary depending on the golf course, whether you're looking for weekdays or weekends, whether there are packages of several certificates together, etc.

You can also get specific tee times at courses right on the spot, with prices for those clearly shown.

Plus, if you add promotional code GOLFBALLS when you buy a certificate, you'll get 15% knocked off the price of your order. Every little bit helps, no?

The certificates could make great gift ideas, since they're redeemable for several months after purchase. Or if you're trying to arrange a specific event for a specific date, this is a great way to check availability at several courses and get a great, low price.

To check out the site and see courses, certificates, tee times and use the promo for even more savings, click this link.

Free Ticket to a Baltimore Orioles Home Game

Here's yet another free baseball ticket offer -- on top of the Texas Rangers free pair, and Atlanta Braves free ticket the month of your birthday about which I posted a few days ago -- the Orioles are in the game too. You can get a totally free ticket to a designated home game at Baltimore's Camden Yards just but voting on-line twenty-five times for them as your favorite team or "other favorite" between now and July 2nd.

I presume you're limited to one vote per day, so it's something you'll have to remember to do, but there's plenty of time before the deadline.

Here are the terms and conditions:
To be eligible for this ticket offer, fans must successfully transmit twenty-five (25) Online Ballots for the 2009 MLB All-Star Game between 3:01 p.m. ET on April 22, 2009 and 11:59 p.m. ET on July 2, 2009 (the "Entry Period"), with the Baltimore Orioles selected as a "favorite" or "other favorite" Club. The 2009 MLB All-Star Game Online Ballot is accessible at http://vote.mlb.com.

Offer valid only for participants who successfully transmit twenty-five (25) Online Ballots via a single email address during the Entry Period. Any vote(s) cast outside of the Entry Period will not be counted as eligible votes for this offer. During the week of July 20, 2009, the Baltimore Orioles will send eligible participants an e-mail containing a ticket redemption code which may be used online only. Limit one (1) redemption code per e-mail address. Redemption code will be valid for one (1) non-prime game ticket in Oriole Park Upper Reserve seat seating section after the All-Star break, subject to availability.

This is a great deal for anyone in the Baltimore area or for anyone planning to travel there later in the summer. If you have kids to bring along, they can submit votes via their own e-mail addresses -- each address can qualify as long as twenty-five votes are generated from each one.

To see all the details, click this link. And take yourself out to the ballgame!

Two Free Tickets to Texas Rangers Games

If you're a baseball fan in the Dallas area, here's a nice offer. It's a way to get two free tickets to a Texas Rangers game absolutely free. The promotion involves on-line voting through mlb.com. All you have to do is vote online and select the Texas Rangers as a "favorite" or "other favorite" club the maximum 25 times between now and July 2nd (you apparently can cast one vote per day so you have to remember to keep doing it). Once you've voted 25 times you receive two free tickets to one select Texas Rangers home game of your choice. The free tickets are for sections regularly priced up to $25.00 each, so this is a $50.00 giveaway.

The select dates eligible for free home game tickets are: Minnesota Twins August 17, 18 or 20; Toronto Blue Jays September 1 or 2; Oakland A's September 14 or 15.

Of course, if you're a fan of one of those other teams and traveling to Texas those dates, there's no reason you can't go see your team play there, either.

Online voting ends July 2, 2009 at 10:59 p.m. Central Daylight Time, so you have plenty of time to get those 25 votes in. The free ticket offer will then come by e-mail the week of July 20th.
You can check the website for all the terms and conditions, and the offer is subject to availability.

Free One-Year Subscription to Baseball Digest

If you're a baseball fan, isn't this a grand time of the year? And you can add to you enjoyment of the sports, the players, the statistics and the trivia with a subscription to Baseball Digest. Right now you can get a one-year subscription for free just by registering your information and answering some questions about your job/industry function at freebizmag.com.

They will also offer you some other free business magazines you could receive but whether to accept others or not is still up to you.

When signing up for offers like this, I don't use my primary e-mail address since they'll be sending follow-up offers and I'd rather not have them clutter up my in-box. I use a separate free e-mail account (i.e. hotmail, yahoo) to handle things like this.

To check out the application and get your free Baseball Digest subscription, click this link.

Kids Bowl Free -- 2 Games a Day All Summer! 1-4 Adults Can Bowl Two Games a Day All Summer for $23.95

I know Spring has just sprung, but summer isn't that far away. And here's an idea on how to help keep those kids active and entertained all summer. Bowling! What makes this noteworthy is that KidsBowlFree.com offers youngsters the chance to bowl for free. They will be able to go to participating bowling alleys and bowl up to two games free per day. Without your wallet getting drained.

In addition to the kids being able to bowl free, the adults in the family can get a nice deal for the summer too. There's a Family Pass that entitles 1-4 adults to bowl up to two games per day, and the pass is just $23.95 for the whole summer. Considering the cost of bowling a game, this pass can pay for itself in just two or three outings, depending on the number of adults in the family (also older kids who may exceed a center's age limit for the free games).

There are bowling centers in almost every state that are participating -- I haven't counted the number of places, but it must be in the hundreds. Here's a link to the list of the centers that are participating. Each bowling center sets its own age limit, and any specific times the passes aren't accepted.

This program is designed by bowling centers to give back to the community and provide a safe, secure, and fun way for kids to spend time this summer. Here are some more details:

The "Kids Bowl Free" program is only available at the centers listed. Each child can bowl 2 free games every day throughout the duration of the program. Each center has their own age restrictions, as well as any times the coupons are not valid during the day. Any restrictions can be found on the center page. It is the parents' responsibility to sign the children up. No children are allowed to sign themselves up.

The Family Pass allows adult family members to enjoy bowling throughout the summer too. The Family Pass costs $23.95 and covers up to four adult family members. (If you have one or four family members on the pass, the price is still the same). That includes 2 games per person per day (the free children do not count against the pass). So you can have 6 children bowl for free and then 4 adults on the Family Pass for $23.95. This one-time payment covers up to 4 adults for the entire summer.

The "program start" and "program end" dates are listed on the bowling center page that you sign up with. You can sign up for the program before the start date, but the coupons and family passes will not be loaded into your account until the start date has occurred.

Once the program has begun, they send you an email every Sunday morning that contains a link to your coupons and family passes for that week.

To read all about it, and see about signing up at a nearby bowling center, click this link.
