Spirit Airlines $16 Roundtrips for Members of Their $9 Fare Club -- Book before 11:59 pm Election Day

I've written about Spirit Airlines a number of times on this blog. They became one of my favorites when I was able to get a 2¢ roundtrip from Atlantic City to Las Vegas and another from Atlantic City to Fort Lauderdale.

Since then they have restricted a lot of their best fares to members of their "$9 Fare Club." It's a membership that costs $39.95 annually, but if you happen to live near and/or travel often to some of their prime destinations you can save way more than that.

They have special fares available now until 11:59 pm November 4th. Non-members can get special fares of $28 each way, but $9 Club members can get the same fares for $8 each way. These are on specific dates on a large variety of routes. So without joining the club you might get a $56 roundtrip but joining the club you could get it for $16, already paying for the membership.

Some examples of these $8 fares include:
Atlantic City to/from Fort Lauderdale, Myrtle Beach, Orlando, Tampa, West Palm Beach
Boston to/from Fort Lauderdale, Myrtle Beach
New York (LaGuardia) to/from Myrtle Beach, Detroit
Fort Lauderdale to/from Cancun, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Trinidad and many more
San Antonio to/from Fort Lauderdale
Washington DC to/from Fort Lauderdale
Detroit to/from Fort Lauderdale, New York, West Palm Beach, Orlando

Again, these are for very specific dates, and the fares don't include the airport/security fees. But even with those added on (as they would be with any airline ticket) you could travel for way less than you'd expect.

This is a discount airline, so you pay on board for snacks and to check a bag; but nowadays even man of the regular airlines are doing that to you.

If you live anywhere near Fort Lauderdale, you have to check out this airline -- you can fly a ton of places for a song. It almost makes me want to move there!

For anyone looking for an SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) card that can be used in devices that need either microSDHC or regular size SDHC, here's a nice price for 4GB worth of memory. Buy.com is selling Kingston's 4GB microSDHC card with full-size SD adapter for just $10.47. The deal also includes free budget shipping.

Their cards are backed by a lifetime warranty and free live technical support.

Note on compatibility: Identical in physical size to today’s standard microSD card, the microSDHC cards are designed to comply with SD Specification Version 2.00 and are only recognized by microSDHC host devices. They can be used as full-size SDHC cards when used with the included adapter. To ensure compatibility, look for the microSDHC or SDHC logo on host devices (e.g. phones, PDAs, and cameras).

4" Screen GPS System with Text-to-Speech and Bluetooth $104.99

If you are on the lookout for a portable GPS system, either for yourself or as a gift, here's one at a nice price. Buy.com is offering the Navtour G4 4 in. GPS with G-sensor, Text to Speech, Bluetooth, USA and Canada Maps for just $104.99, with free budget shipping included.

This is a slightly bigger screen than some of the lower-end GPS systems, but still portable enough to carry around. (If you're looking for a larger GPS I have another post on a 7" screen one.)

This system isn't just a fully-functional GPS system with text-to-speech (pronouncing the names of streets where you need to make a turn), but it also has Bluetooth. That means you can use it to make hands-free phone calls using your cell phone (hands-free is being required in more and more states by law). Plus, when you're not using it in navigation mode, it can play MP3s or even videos to keep the youngsters entertained in the back seat.

Extra $20 Gift Card When You Spend $200 at Participating Malls from Discover Card

Discover Card has a program that can get you back some more of your money during the upcoming holiday shopping season. If you use your Discover Card at a participating shopping mall and spend a total of over $200, you'll receive a $20 gift card which can be used anywhere Discover Card is accepted.

The $200 in purchases does not all have to be from one store, or even on the same day. As long as you are shopping at that mall during the promotional period you can total up all your receipts to qualify for the gift card(s). (So if you spend $150 on one trip and a week later spend $50 at the same mall, the $200 combined qualifies you for a gift card.)

The promotion starts today, November 1st, and runs until January 4th. You bring your original receipts (and the Discover Card you used) to the participating mall's Customer Service area. You get your gift card right then and there (this isn't a mail-in program). There's a limit of 5 gift cards per account.

There are over 160 malls participating nationwide. January 4th is the deadline for submitting your receipts, and they do have a "while supplies last" disclaimer so I would submit them as soon as making the qualifying purchase(s) if possible.

So find your favorite mall, find the best savings and then add to those savings by using Discover and getting a gift card. To read details and see the participating malls, click this link.

Wood Finish 7" Digital Photo Frame $39.99

If you're looking for a digital photo frame with a stylish look, you may want to check out one being offered right now a buy.com. They have the InVion 7-inch Digital Photo Frame w/ SD card slot in Wood Finish available at $39.99. The deal includes free budget shipping. That's about $20.00 less than most sale prices I've seen for frames this size.

The title says wood finish but I would doubt it's actual wood (the listing doesn't show specific details) -- but the wood look may complement your decor better than some of the clear plastic or stark white/black.

With the holidays coming up, this might make a nice gift idea -- you could also buy an SD card (I've had them frequently on my blog), load it up with family photos and give someone a slideshow they can display with happiness at home or office.
