Restaurant.com Promo Code - 80% Off Till November 20th

Restaurant.com is back with another promotional code (thanks to a faithful reader for letting me know!) and it's only the second time I've seen them cut the cost of their certificates this low. Right now till Thursday, November 20th, the promotional code gets you 80% off at checkout. That means a $25.00 dining certificate, normally $10.00, is yours for just $2.00! And a $10 certificate, normally $3.00, is just 60¢!

Even at the regular prices, these certificates help stretch your dining-out dollars, but with this promo code they become amazing bargains!

And with the holiday season coming up, you can use restaurant.com for gift ideas and save with the promo code as well. You can purchase certificates to specific restaurants in someone's area to give as a gift. But you could also give certificates that the recipient can choose their own participating restaurant at restaurant.com. Plus, they also have a Dinner-of-the-Month club as another gift option -- in three-month, six-month and twelve-month options. Recipients get a certificate per month they can pick for their choice of participating restaurants. A three-month plan (three certificates worth a total of $75) is normally $30, so right now with the code this plan is a stocking-stuffer-worthy $6! A twelve-month package (normally $120) is cut to $24.

And with the Dinner-of-the-Month purchase, you get a bonus certificate for yourself too. If you buy a three-month plan, you get a $10 certificate. A six-month plan gets you a bonus $25 certificate, and a twelve-month plan gets you a $50 dining certificate as a bonus! (When you consider that a $50 certificate would normally cost $20 and the whole plan costs $24 right now with the certificate, it's almost like they're giving twelve months of dining for free). By the way, you can get the Dinner-of-the-Month club for yourself as well and get the bonus... that may be the best overall deal.

Okay, so that's a breakdown of some savings possibilities. The code, valid till 11:59 pm Thursday, November 20th, is SURPRISE. You enter the code at checkout, and then hit the "apply" key to see the discount in your shopping cart.

Click here to go to restaurant.com. Or click here to go to their dinner-of-the-month page.

Microsoft Live OneCare Free After Rebate (or Maybe Even Better Than Free)

If you use Windows and particularly Vista, and you'd like to add Microsoft Live OneCare to your system utilities, you can get it right now for free after rebate through Staples. It's possible that you can even get back more than you spent, depending on how Staples issues the rebate.

It's designed as an all-around PC protection tool, keeping your PC's internal workings in order while helping protect it from security threats from the outside.

This utility software:
- blocks and removes viruses, spyware, and blocks hackers
- runs automatic tune-ups keep your PC running efficiently
- protects up to 3 PC's
- does real-time virus and spyware protection
- performs routine maintenance, such as hard disk defragging

The software normally sells for $39.99, but until November 22nd Staples takes off $25.00 from the purchase price, making it just $14.99. And there's a $20.00 rebate for purchases made by April 18, 2009. It's unclear if Staples limits the rebate to the price you paid ($14.99) which would make the item free after rebate, or whether they are issuing checks for the full $20.00 regardless of the receipt amount -- in that case, you'd get back $5.01 more than you spent.

Transcend 8GB SDHC Card $14.99

Looking for a nice capacity SDHC card without laying out too much cash? Right now, amazon.com is selling the Transcend TS8GSDHC6E 8GB SDHC Card for just $14.99. The item qualifies for free shipping if part of an order over $25.00 so you can pick up a pair (or combine it with another eligible item) to qualify.

For a camcorder that uses SDHC cards, this is capable of recording 120 minutes of video. This card also comes in a "frustration free" packaging that's a lot easier to open than those molded plastic packages that have become all too ubiquitous.

There's one other way to save money in this deal. Nextar P3 GPS at $69.99 with Free Shipping

If you're looking for a portable GPS without spending much, this is the lowest price I've seen. Newegg is selling the Nextar P3 3.5" GPS System with MP3 for the low price of $89.99. And they are offering free shipping in the deal as well.

This unit provides turn-by-turn directions, not text-to-speech -- it tells you the place to turn, not the name of the street onto which you're turning. But it has plenty of other GPS features, including 2D or 3D viewing, day or night modes, speed alert, 1.6 million points of interest, ability to store up to 300 addresses. Plus it can be used to play your MP3 tunes when not being used in GPS function. It's also a handy size that you can take when traveling so you don't need to get one from the rental car agency.

If you're looking for a GPS with the basic features and not many of the bells and whistles, you might want to take a look at this one. Maybe having a spare for the second car or just to get one for that rare trip when it'll come in handy without spending too much.

Turn Your Spare Change into $10 Extra at Coinstar -- $50 Worth of Spending for $40 of Coins!

A while back I blogged about Coinstar having a promotion entitling you to a bonus $10 gift certificate at amazon.com if you converted $40 of change into an amazon.com certificate there (so you got a total of $50 credit for $40 worth of quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies -- even dollar coins). I took advantage of it and got my bonus certificate without any hassles.

Well, Coinstar has another promotion going, and this time it's not limited to amazon. Between now and December 7th, you can redeem $40 in coins for an e-certificate or prepaid gift card to use at one of several retailers, and you can send in your receipt for a bonus $10 gift card/certificate toward the same retailer.

The nice thing is that Coinstar doesn't charge any percentage fee when you redeem change into an e-certificate or prepaid card, so you get the full value of your spare change (if you convert it into cash, Coinstar charges a commission).

The stores/brands this year include: amazon, Starbucks, Circuit City, JC Penney, iTunes, Borders, Pier 1, Eddie Bauer, Cabela's, Disney Shopping, Old Navy, Lowes or AMC Movie Theatres. So you can pick the business where you think you'll get the biggest bang for your buck or the one you're sure you'll use most frequently.

The promotion is limited to one certificate/card per household.

This looks like a really great way to turn that bottle of spare change into some extra spending money. Or you can even use the gift card as one of your Christmas presents (and maybe use the bonus one as a gift to yourself). To check the details and conditions, or to look for a Coinstar location near you, click this link.

Well, if you shop in store today or tomorrow at one of three popular stores, you can print out a coupon that gets you 30% off your purchase. The coupon can be printed multiple times so you can use it at each store if you want. It's for in-store use, not on-line. Gift card purchases aren't eligible for the discount.

But you can also feel good about this discount in another way: They're calling this promotion Give & Get, because for every purchase you make, they are donating 5% of the amount you spend to one of their nonprofit partners, CARE

Again, this coupon is only valid till tomorrow, so if you like these stores, this is a great opportunity to save some more of your hard-earned cash. To print out your coupon(s), click this link.

Restaurant.com Promo Code 70% Off -- $25 Dining Certficiate for $3!

The latest restaurant.com promotional code is out, and it gets you a nice 70% off the cost of a dining certificate. For those of you unfamiliar with restaurant.com, thousands of restaurants across the country participate and offer certificates valid for dining credit. Most of the dinner certificates get you $25 off the cost of your final bill, and usually cost $10 to buy. So with the promo code you can get them for just $3.00!

Some of the restaurants also offer $10 dining certificates, generally for use at lunch time -- those regularly cost $3 to purchase so right now you can get them for 90¢.

The certificates do come with some restrictions, such as needing to buy two entrees, or needing to have a $35 check to use the $25 certificate. The restrictions are restaurant-specific, and they aren't very difficult to reach easily, so these certificates really do work.

It's a great way to try some new restaurants, visit an old favorite more often, give your kids a chance to eat out while away at college, etc. Certificates are valid for a year, and can be used at any specific restaurant no more than once per month.

The current promotional code is DESSERT and is valid through November 17th. Make sure to hit the "apply" button after entering the promo code at checkout so you see the savings before you finish the transaction.

It's good for full-price or sale merchandise (but not gift cards) and is valid until the end of the year.
