A while back I posted about an offer that seemed a no-brainer for any traveler. US Airways is offering free Silver Preferred Status in its frequent flyer plan for 90 days. It's available to people who already are part of their Dividend Miles program as well as those who would join it for this. Even if you don't have any firm travel plans yet over the last part of the year, it's free to join -- and if you do end up traveling even once on US Airways, you could save big as well as having a more comfortable flight.
