Compliment on Quick Shipment

I know this blog has generally been about posting great deals -- there are also columns on various strategies to save money (you can find them if you go down the right column after the Hot Deals listing). But I wanted to take a minute just to mention a real fast shipment I received earlier today. I ordered one of the Brother label makers about which I blogged yesterday. My order went in about 2:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon.

The unit arrived today by 10:00 a.m.!

I may be lucky in terms of living somewhere near a Buy.com warehouse so maybe the travel time is less, but for something that has free budget shipping to have that quick a turn-around is impressive. After all, they only got the order in the afternoon, had to pull it from stock and get it to FedEx for ground shipment sometime that same afternoon or evening if it could get here today.

Pretty impressive for free budget shipping.

Spirit Airlines -- Fares from $1.00 Each Direction for $9 Fare Club Members -- From $21.00 for Anyone Else

I've posted a bunch of times about Spirit Airlines' occasional ridiculously low airfares. They make these offers every so often on specific dates for specific routes. You have to be a member of their $9 Fare Club to get the lowest fares.

If you book today or tomorrow (July 1st), some fares are as low as $1.00 each way. So if you can match up dates just right, a $2.00 roundtrip is possible.

You can also get discounted fares if you're not a member for $20.00 more each way, but with the annual membership in the $9 Fare Club of $39.95 you'd already have paid off an annual membership with one roundtrip (and then be ready to book other specials throughout the year). Membership is also included if you get a Spirit credit card, if you want to plan for future travel bargains.

The fares don't include the security and airport fees/taxes, but even with those, you are saving quite a bit on travel. To see all the low airfares and dates, click this link now.

More Discounts for "Grease" (with Idol's Taylor Hicks) in Philly -- Up to 45% Off

Yesterday I posted one promo code that gets you $15.00 off selected seats to certain performances of "Grease" at Philadelphia's Academy of Music (starring Taylor Hicks, a winner from American Idol if you didn't know). Well, today thanks to Travelzoo, there's another promo code that gets discounts for other ranges of seats as well.

The hit musical opens in Philadelphia on July 7th and runs till the 19th, and with this code select tickets have been reduced by over 45 percent, starting as low as $14.00.

Some of the ticket levels include:
- Amphitheatre Sides: $14.00 (regularly $25.00)
- Amphitheatre Center: $24.00 (regularly $45.00)
- Balcony: $39.00 (regularly $75.00)

To book online, click on this link and register with the Academy of Music. When all required fields are filled, click submit. You will be prompted to log in again. On the next screen, select 'Grease' and continue as prompted.

Or To purchase discounted tickets, call 215-731-3333 and mention offer code SANDY for these discounts (you can use promo code FRENCHY as posted yesterday for $15.00 off Family Circle section seats).

Additional fees of $8.50 per ticket and $4 per order will be added. (Bummer, but full price tickets are subject to the same fees.)

Today Only, June 30th -- Portable Massager/
Electronic Muscle Stimulator $14.99

If you'd like to pick up a handy little portable massage unit that uses electronic muscle stimulation (those pads you place on spots to get targeted muscle stimulation), you may want to check today's offer from Daily Steals. (as you might tell from the name, they sell one item per day, and once they're sold out or midnight comes, they're gone.)

Today they are selling the iSmart Massager for $14.99 (the original retail was $99.99 although I suspect it sold for less in stores, although probably more than $14.99).

It uses one 9V battery (included) to generate the power. The small unit is great since you can use it almost anywhere and pack it for travels so you can relax with it after a long plane trip or car ride. It comes with pads you place on the muscle area you would like to work and has five levels of intensity so you can make it work as gently or firmly as needed.

The iSmart comes with:
- iSmart Massager Head Unit.
- 9-Volt Battery.
- two Large Massage Pads.
- two Small Massage Pads.
- Massage Ears (for paper holding).
- Adapter Cord for Pads.
- 2 Year Warranty

Shipping is another $6.99. I've ordered a few times from Daily Steals and have been satisfied overall. The items are as described in their ads and the shipping is OK (not the fastest but they get here in a few days). The fun thing about their site is they often have some of the funniest YouTube videos -- the one for the free Valentine's Day heart pin was hilarious.

Anyway, to check it out and see if it's for you click this link.

Another Free Coloring Book for Kids -- From the Georgia Peanut Commission -- Teachers' Kits Too

With all the time young kids will have over the summer, parents are sure to need things to keep them not only occupied but really to keep their creative juices going. Coloring books are always a way to have some fun, and when you can get them for free it's a nice little resource to have available. I've posted a couple recently and here's another: the Georgia Peanut Commission is offering free coloring books and recipe booklets.

You can get them just by e-mailing a request to:
info@gapeanuts.com. If you prefer to make your request by snail mail, you can send a note to: Georgia Peanut Commission, 110 E. 4th Street, P.O. Box 967, Tifton, GA 31793.

For any teachers reading this blog, the site also talks about free Teachers' Kits
for grades K-2 and 3-5 with information about the history of peanuts, nutrition information, ideas for teaching, recipes, activities and songs.

To check out the coloring books and other items, click this link.

Free ¿Luaka Bop? Orinoco Sampler mp3 Download at Amazon

Want to expand your music collection? Here's a no-risk way with a free ¿Luaka Bop? Orinoco Sampler you can download now at Amazon.com.

Some of you may only have heard of the Orinoco from the Enya recording "Orinoco Flow," but this sampler isn't akin to that. The Orinoco is a river in Venezuela so this would be music heard from artists in that region. The music of Venezuela, especially from the region of the Orinoco River, is rich with the transcultural influence of Spanish song and dance, Indian chant, and African rhythm.

There are twelve tracks on this free sampler, and you can even preview them before you do a download. It's a great way to expand your music horizons.

To check out this sampler, click the link below.

Lots of Free After Rebate Software at Office Depot®This Week

If you're looking for software, this is a terrific week for deals at Office Depot. They have a lot of titles available that come free after rebate. There are entertainment software titles, educational ones like languages, computer utility and security software and more.

The list is long but it really looks likes it's worth checking out. I know there are people out there who aren't fans of rebates and don't trust them, but I have been using rebates for years and have almost always gotten them without problem -- and in the relatively few instances where there have been problems, the customer service people have stepped up and corrected the issue.

The important thing with rebates is to read and follow the rules to a T, and to make sure you send everything in ahead of the deadline (plus keep copies for the occasions where there is a problem).

So here's a list -- you can shop online and with over $50.00 you can get free delivery:

The following rebates combine a standard rebate with an on-box/in-box offer (the in-box/on-box offer is based on information gathered elsewhere so it's not 100% sure these are there) So only get these if you're sure you want the software (you can also return them if they turn out not to have those on-box offers if you don't open the package):

$30.00 upgrader rebate 0906-89823
Mcafee rebates can generally be pre-submitted at www.mcafeerebates.com

* The "continuing" reference for Norton and Art Explosion means this is a long-term rebate, so it's a no-go if you have submitted these in the past.

That's a lot of software options, available to you for free after sending in rebate documentation. Like I said, I've used rebates often, especially for software, and probably have put a couple of thousands of dollars on my system with no final out of pocket cost except for stamps and sales tax.

I hope you find some items that will come in handy and can save money getting them now.

Today, June 27th Only: Norton Anti-Virus 2009 Software (Up to 3 Users) Free After Rebate (or Maybe Better)

I've posted a few deals about McAfee, but I know there are lots of people who prefer Norton for their computer protection software needs. Well, today you're in luck. Fry's is offering Norton Anti-Virus 2009, licensed for up to three users, for $45.00. There's a $45.00 mail-in rebate (no upgrade/competitive needed) for purchases made June 27th. Fry's is shipping this item free so after rebate your bottom line cost is zero.

Plus there's a possibility you could also qualify for a second rebate of $20.00 if you are upgrading from a competitive product (i.e. if you bought the free McAfee software for this purpose). You can go to McAfee's rebate site and enter rebate number 08-40061 -- they have a competitive rebate for $20.00 for purchases by the end of 2009. There doesn't appear to be a restriction about multiple rebates exceeding the cost so it should be valid. This rebate isn't mentioned on the Fry's site, though, so I'm not 100% sure.

But at worst you can get it for free even if the added 20.00 doesn't come, so the deal is still good. An extra $20.00 would make it sweet!

Here the link to the product at Fry's which has a link for the $45.00 rebate form. And here's the link to the Norton rebate page for the extra $20.00.

Restaurant.com Promo Code - 70% Off All Orders Plus Bonus $10 Dining Certificate

My regular readers have probably gotten used to the rhythm of restaurant.com promo codes. They generally get better toward the end of a month, since some of the most popular restaurants may have sold all their available certificates. (But as I've said before, end of month promo codes are a great time to do Dinner-of-the-Month Club since you can get the big discount and then redeem your certificates at the start of a month when the most popular places are back in stock.)

Well, here's the latest promo code -- RECIPE -- it's valid through the end of June and not only does it get you 70% off, but you also get a bonus $10.00 dining certificate to your choice of participating restaurants with each order.

So if you were to get a $25.00 dining certificate which normally sells at $10.00, you pay just $3.00. Adding in the bonus, you've gotten $35.00 in dining certificates for just $3.00!

If you find a $10.00 dining certificate, you'll pay just 90¢ and end up with $20.00 of dining certificates with the bonus.

The bonus is per order, so if you're looking at buying several certificates you should do it on separate orders and get one each time.

The discount can also be used for the Dinner-of-the-Month, so a three month membership would drop from $30.00 to $9.00 -- and you'd get the bonus certificate too.

Certificates are valid for a year, so this is a great time to stock up on several certificates to make the savings last a long time. To check them out click 70% off and receive $10 certificate when you use code RECIPE.through 6/30/09 at Restaurant.com.

Extra Discounts through June 25th on Multi-Day New York Pass -- Save Time and Money Getting in to New York City Attractions

Planning a trip to new York City and want to take in a lot of the sites? Or maybe you live in the city and just plan to do a "staycation" this summer and take in a lot of the excitement of The Big Apple?

New York Pass is a card with a computer chip in it that grants admission to over 50 top New York City attractions (the link below says it's over 40 but the updated website shows over 50). You pay one price, and can visit as many attractions as you want, you will save money and time. The money aspect is great but the time-saving aspect is important too.

Since the card is already your Ticket, there's no need to wait in the lines (which can get long during tourist season). Plus the New York Pass Fast Track privileged entry gets you in front of entry lines to some of the New York City's busiest attractions. So you get to squeeze more real tourism into the day instead of having a day filled with two or three attractions and hours waiting on lines. It's almost like getting some extra time to enjoy New York City.

Here are the regular admission prices you could save with this pass:
- Empire State Building, $20.00
- Madame Tusaudd's, $29.00
- Circle Line River Cruise, $31.00
- New York Skyride, $35.00
- Museum of Modern Art, $20.00
- Top of the Rock, $20.00
- Bodies… The Exhibition, $26.50

Passes are available in one-day, two-day, three- or seven-day increments. When you're planning your trip and see all the sightseeing options with this Pass, you can make a choice based on how many days you have and how many attractions you'd like to see spread out over those days.

And if you buy passes by tomorrow, June 25th, you get extra discounts off the regular Pass prices for multi-day passes. Here are the prices for adult passes (kids' passes are also available):

- 1-Day Adult Pass: $75
- 2-Day Adult Pass: $99 (regularly $110)
- 3-Day Adult Pass: $119 (reg. $140)
- 7-Day Adult Pass: $144 (reg. $180)

The site also offers a Money Back Guarantee on non-used Passes.

To take a further look to see if it's for you and to take advantage of the extra discount, click the link below.

p.s. If you go to see Skyride, I actually appear in it -- my wife and I were extras during the shooting, and I am on screen for about a half-second, sitting in my car and pounding on the door yelling at a construction worker to get out of my way.

Spirit Airlines -- 60¢ Roundtrip Fort Lauderdale to Cancun for $9 Fare Club Members -- $1.38 Roundtrip Fort Lauderdale to Dominican Republic

I've written about travel deals on Spirit Airlines various times -- they were one of the deals that generated the idea for the DealReader blog. Right now you can book a one-way flight on Spirit Airlines on specific dates between Fort Lauderdale and Cancun for 30¢ if you're a member of their $9 Fare Club. They also have flights between Fort Lauderdale and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on certain dates for 69¢ each way.

So if you can match up the dates coming and going, you could have a 60¢ roundtrip to Cancun or a $1.38 roundtrip to Santo Domingo. These fares have to be booked before 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on June 24th.

These prices don't include airport/security fees that would get tacked on to any airfare.

If you're not a member of the $9 Fare Club, you can get the fares for $20.00 more each way. But annual membership is $39.95 so you'd save the cost of membership just on one trip.

They also have plenty of other date-specific fares to/from other cities for $9.00 each way for Fare Club members, making $18.00 roundtrips possible.

To see all the choices at Spirit, click this link.

Promo Code for $1.99 Domain name Registration at GoDaddy

Looking to get yourself on the web with a website? Right now you can use a promo code from buy.com to get your domain name registered for just $1.99 (plus a 20¢ ICANN fee). That's valid for domains using .com, .net, .org and a few others.

These domain registrations can go for as much as $14.99 a year, so this is a nice bit of savings. It's for the name registration only, not for hosting services (although I believe you can get an ad-supported site for free as well). The reduced price covers the first year only; additional years are available at the prevailing price (although I would just do one year and renew later using coupon codes you can find on the web.

The code is limited to the first 7,500 redemptions so this may go quickly, and it's one to a customer.

The code is 199BUYCOM. To check it out and get your domain name, click this link.

McAfee Total Protection 2009 Software (For 3 Users) Free After $70.00 Rebate

I've posted a couple of times about using rebate strategies to keep your anti-virus and firewall protection current without having to shell out a lot. Currently, amazon.com has an offer for McAfee Total Protection 2009 licensed for up to three computers at $70.00, with a $70.00 mail-in rebate. It qualifies for super-saver shipping, so basically you get back the whole cost.

You can use this deal if you have used McAfee and want to update your software or extend your subscription -- the only users that might not qualify is if you already purchased and got a rebate on Total Protection earlier this year. If you're using a different version of McAfee and have a few months to go on your update subscription, you can get this now and install it at the end of your existing period to get a full new year.

If you prefer a competitor's software solution, often they also have free-after-rebate deals if you send in proof of ownership of a competitor's product -- so this would be one way of getting it free.

The rebate is valid for purchases until June 27th, so if you want to check this out, click McAfee Free After Rebate

Restaurant.com Promo Code - A Whopping 80% Off All Orders Through June 25th

Restaurant.com has introduced their latest promo code, so you get even more savings on top of the built-in savings you get when using one of their dining certificates. The current code is for 80% off all orders, which is the highest level discount I've seen in the three years I've been using them.

So in addition to ordering restaurant-specific certificates, this is a great time to order their Dinner-of-the-Month Club. That way, you can be getting 80% off now on the monthly certificates you get, but redeem them early in a month when the most popular restaurants are available (and when the promo codes are usually a lower percent savings).

I won;t go through all the ins and outs of restaurant.com since I've written them often. If you by some chance aren't familiar with them, click on restaurant.com in the topic index down the left column to read earlier posts.

The code to use at checkout is DISH, valid till June 25th. To look for local restaurants or to get a Dinner-of-the-Month (a great gift idea too), click the link below. (Remember to add the code and hit 'apply' to get the savings into your cart.)

99 Essential Chants on MP3 99¢ Total

This music selection is a bit more esoteric than most, but if you like chants (maybe during meditation or yoga), or if you want to fill out your music collection with this special genre, amazon.com has a nice collection for you. They are offering 99 Essential Chants for download for a total of 99¢. That's right, for what you'd normally pay for one track, you get ninety-nine!

Now I doubt anyone would be buying all these tracks individually but the savings over the cost of buying them separately is $97.02.

There are chants by Benedictine Monks, Nuns and Choirs from all around the world, from Africa, South America and Europe.

To take a look and see if this 99¢ deal would spice up your music collection, click the link below.

If so, you'll want to head over to amazon.com quickly. They have cut the price on The Long Road Home: The Ultimate John Fogerty/Creedence Collection down to just $2.99. That's for 25 tracks, at a price you'd normally expect to pay for just three.

The price drop won;t last long, so I'd suggest checking this one out fast.

There are hits like:
- Who'll Stop the Rain
- Proud Mary
- Bad Moon Rising
- Travelin' Band
- Centerfield
and twenty others.

To check it out and see about adding these to your mp3 collection, click the link below.

Bath & Body Works Coupon $10.00 Off $40.00

If you're heading out to a mall today or tomorrow (to shop for Dad maybe) and like the items at Bath & Body Works, here's a coupon you may want to print out. It gives you $10.00 off a purchase of $40.00 or more. So you can stock up on some of your favorite products and have a bit more left in your wallet.

The coupon is valid through Sunday, June 21st. There are restrictions (i.e. no gift cards, sale merchandise).

I am never a big fan of coupons that exclude sale items because I like to combine extra savings on top of existing discounts to create better deals. But if you have some favorite products there you buy anyway and would get them regardless whether they're on sale, then this coupon will still come in handy.

To print yours out, click this link.

$6.95 Prescription Eyeglasses Including Lenses

A few days ago I posted a deal for Joseph Marc prescription eyeglasses at Coastal Contacts. The price on those frames has since risen to $29.95, but that doesn't mean the idea of $6.95 prescription glasses is gone. I just did a search page to show all their frames, and at the bottom of the page are several pair still available for $6.95.

That low price actually includes the prescription lenses. I'm not sure how they can keep prices so low, but that's their business. This might be a great time to pick up new glasses if yours are a bit old, if you've gotten a new prescription, or if you just want an extra pair or two around for "just in case" purposes.

$7.43 gets added to your order for shipping and handling, but getting a new pair of glasses for under $15.00 shipped is surely a nice final price.

Here's the link to their whole Spring line of frames, with five of them available at $6.95.

Spirit Airlines -- $16 Roundtrips for $9 Fare Club Members ($56 for Non-Members)

Regular readers of my blog have seen me post many times about Spirit Airlines. They frequently have sales where they drop the price on certain routes on specific dates to very, very low prices. Generally to get the lowest prices you have to be a member of their $9 Fare Club, but often you can get low prices as a non-member too (although the annual cost of membership can be made up in the savings on just one flight).

Well right now they have one of these sales going, with one-way tickets on certain routes as low as $8.00 (member's price) for selected dates. If you can match up the dates in both directions, you could do a roundtrip for as little as $16.00. Non-members pay $20 more in each direction.

These special fares have to be booked before midnight, June 19th.

The fares shown don't include those airport/security fees that are almost always added to advertised airfares for all airlines.

Some examples of options:
Atlantic City to Boston $8 8/1, 8/3, 8/5, 8/11, 8/14, 8/18, 8/24, 8/31
Boston to Atlantic City $8 8/5, 8/11, 8/13, 8/25, 8/26, 8/27, 8/29, 8/30
Detroit to Fort Lauderdale $8 7/17, 7/19, 7/22, 7/23, 7/28, 7/29, 7/30, 7/31
Fort Lauderdale to Detroit $8 7/18, 7/22, 7/23, 7/24, 7/25, 7/27, 7/28, 7/30
Washington DC to Ft. Laud. $8 8/13, 8/20, 8/22, 8/24, 8/25, 8/29, 8/30
Fort Lauderdale to Wash. DC $8 8/6, 8/8, 8/9, 8/13, 8/18, 8/24, 8/27, 8/31

There are also $8 flights between Fort Lauderdale and many spots in the Caribbean and to Cancun, Mexico too.

Spirit is an airline to keep in mind if you have some time flexibility and especially if you leave near Fort Lauderdale (or have reason to go there often).

Vista Print -- Free Items Printed, Savings Up to 90% on Others

For my readers who may have some printing needs, I wanted to make sure you're aware of VistaPrint. They're an on-line design and printing service that offers a great variety of products at sensational prices. They also have a variety of handy free products you can get, such as free business cards, rubber stamps -- and occasionally other items such as free holiday cards before Christmastime. For many printed items they also offer frequent promotional discounts, such as 50% off regular prices to as much as 90% off.

I've used them a few times, for some business marketing needs and even some personal item printing (i.e. free personalized pen). And the quality has always been top-notch. I have sometimes attended business meetings where people have asked where we get our postcards printed because they like the designs so much.

They have hundreds of design templates for all kinds of businesses, meaning that you can create material that shows off your business in a great light without paying a ton. They also have designs suitable for family events and other purposes.

As an example, you can get 250 business cards printed free, with a lot of design choices you can customize. You can get a free rubber stamp, free pen, free car-door-magnet and other items.

Right now they have a half-price offer on postcards. If you need postcards for a promotion, you can order 250 for $29.99 (regularly $59.99) or 1000 for just $59.99 (regularly $119.99).

There are tons of items, such as note cards, letterheads, checks, envelopes, brochures, lawn signs, flyers... the list is really extensive. if your order totals over $50.00 shipping is free. If the amount is less (or if you order only free items), you get a variety of shipping options where your cost depends on the speed you need.

If and when you do order from them, they will send out frequent offers with all sorts of extra specials, other free items and other sales -- so you may want to use a secondary e-mail account rather than your primary one to place your order.

Stila Charmed Eye Shadow Palette w/ 24 Karat Gold for $10.00 at Sephora

You can make your makeup dollars go further right now at Sephora with a nice deal on a special limited-edition eye-shadow set. They are offering the Stila Charmed Eye Shadow Palette w/ 24 Karat Gold for just $10.00. It's limited to two per customer.

And if you add coupon code S7PB390 at checkout, they'll ship it to you free.

You also get the choice to add three free beauty samples with your order.

Plus, as my sister reminds me, Sephora is one of those stores you can get a bit more cash back by using ebates as a portal before shopping there. To find out more about ebates if you don't know about the system, check out the info midway down the left column of this blog.

Restaurant.com Promo Code - 60% Off All Orders Plus Bonus $15 Off at LobesterGram®

As my readers probably know, Restaurant.com sometimes pairs their discount codes with a bonus offer from a partner organization. In the past there have been bonus certificates from Dale & Thomas Popcorn, FTD Florists etc. Right now they have a promotional code (valid through June 21st) that knocks 60% off the price of restaurant.com certificates, and also includes a certificate good for $15.00 off an order of $75.00 or more at LobsterGram.com.

So you can see some savings in two ways. A $25.00 dining certificate which typically costs $10.00 would cost you just $4.00 -- and if LobsterGram® appeals to you, you can get the bonus $15.00 savings there too.

Anyone unfamiliar with how Restaurant.com works should check out some earlier posts for more details. Just click on restaurant.com in the Topic Index down the left column.

The promo code valid until the 21st is DAD. Just click 60% off + free $15 gift from Lobster Gram® when you use code DAD through 6/21/09 to head over to Restaurant.com and look for nearby restaurants.
