For anyone traveling to Europe, it's always tricky to figure out the cost when you see the airfares posted, because there are all those added security and airport fees and taxes. They can add well over $100 to the cost of tickets, so what looks to be a great deal often drops back a bit with all the added costs.
Alitalia's winter sale makes it much easier, though, showing the prices with all the taxes and fees included. And right now they are offering roundtrip to Italy for as low as $599 inclusive.
Some examples of nice prices include:
- New York-Milano (nonstop): $599
- Miami-Firenze (Florence): $619
- Chicago-Torino: $629
- New York-Rome (nonstop): $659
- Boston-Rom: $679
- Boston-Catania (Sicily): $809
The fares are good through April 30th, and the site doesn't mention blackout dates, although I suspect there are some. It simply states "seats are limited and may not be available on all flights and dates so hurry and book your tickets today." These fares must be booked by November 9th.
